A week long birthday!

Well last week it was my other half's Mum's birthday and this year I think she was thoroughly spoilt! :)
Jake and I got her a ticket to see the amazing Sean Locke ( I may have mentioned this before ) and her boyfriend who lives in Australia had spent weeks planning and buying lots of presents and sent them to me so she couldn't get to it before the big day :) I managed to fool her into thinking they hadn't arrive so she got a lovely surprise and then Jake and I managed to get 3 free tickets to see Chris Moyles quiz night and decided to take her as she loves Mr Moyles :) we even managed to keep her in the dark until we got into the building for the show. (We discovered how gullible and oblivious she can be hehe!)
Anywho... I made her this card for her birthday as she loves birds. Though I know it is a simple looking card I am rather proud of this one :)

I used my new Distress Inks to colour the birds in and edge the sentiment and I cut the birds with my Cricut. Sorry the picture isn't great quality.

Another birthday card ...

Well it was my cousins birthday a few weeks ago and as promised I am uploading a picture of her card. This was also my very first easel card... I think it turned out pretty well.

I drew the 'Boo' like character myself and coloured her in using my Promarkers. I used some small heart buttons as stoppers and embellishments but as it was for a 3 year old I didn't think lots of little things would be a great idea in case she pulled them off. I used some green foam letters I got from the local craft shop to add her name.

I have a lot more cards to upload but unfortunately I can't upload then because, although I doubt my family look at this page, I would hate for anyone to see their birthday card before they actually receive it so I will upload them as and when they get given :)

I hope you like them and thank you for stopping by.

I will get the hang of this blogging business soon...

Hello,
I went to see the hilarious Sean Locke last night at the local theatre with my other half and we took his Mum as a birthday treat. I have not laughed that much in a long time! I will never look at Madonna in the same way (or crabs for that matter!) ever again. If you have the chance to see him... GO! :o)
"Milk, milk, lemonade, lemonade, lemonade, chocolate, chocolate, milk :o)"
I have not been the best at updating these blogs lately... mostly due to how hectic things have been. Planning birthdays and Christmas, studying for A Levels (though I must admit that has taken a back seat lately which is not great) and everyday work (and gigs like Sean Locke) I haven't found the time to post on my blog. I will hopefully get better...

My cousin Greta and my Grandma have just had their birthdays and I managed to make my Grandma the following card (will upload Greta's later)...
I stamped the images and sentiments by Woodware stamps ( I think ) and coloured them in using my minimal selection of Promarkers. I cut my speech bubble shape using my Cricut machine and created the border using my checked ribbon I got from Hobbycraft.
This was this fastest I've ever made a card as it only took about half an hour but I was quite please with it. Unfortunately my stash is still in the early stages so I do not have as much choice as some of the AMAZING crafters blogging on here but I do the best with what I have at the moment.

Let me know what you think :) I hope you like it.

Christmas is coming...

Oh yes! Christmas is fast approaching and I am starting to get my Christmas cards in order. I went to a card club on Saturday in a place called "A Maze of Memories" aka AMOM. It was really good fun and you learn some new ideas, plus you get to play around with all of their fun crafting toys (this may sound boring to my beloved family but it is GREAT if you're into crafting). Anywho, this is my creation at the card club.
I'm not sure how much I like it but it's a clever idea. The top corner comes off and turns into a bookmark so it is a card and a gift in one.

I also got my first Magnolia stamps this month, only two but I LOVE them. I have made my very first card with them too, so please let me know what you think...

Thanks

Ying's Blog Candy

Hi,

I am relatively new to this blogging thing and have just learnt of the magic that is "Blog Candy" where people ask others to advertise their blogs on their blog site for the chance to win a prize. I have just entered one on Ying&Magnolia and she is very generously giving away some Magnolia stamps ( which are adorable! )

If you're interested please go to her blog - http://yingandmagnolia.blogspot.com/2010/08/yings-birthday-blog-candy-giveaway-new_31.html

Miracle pens...

Well, on Sunday I went and had a nosey at "A Maze of Miracles" which is a craft shop in Long Crendon, joined by Beth and Andrea (Jake's sister and mother for those that don't know them). Sally had recommended them and though it was a long drive for craft stuff it was well worth it. We discovered the miracle pens that are "Promarkers". These pens are really impressive - though quite expensive - as you can do pretty amazing things with them. Obviously we had to buy some and I got to have a play with them the other night and here is a picture and card I created yesterday using them... (P.S. the background was not done using the pens and I used a stamp to get the image)

Now I'm back to work, which means less time to play around with my new toys. Boo!

Hope you like them anyway...

Past creations...

So… since the move into our lovely new house I have been dying to get back to my crafting and start preparing for Christmas - yes, I am that sad.

As I had a week off coming up, my lovely boyfriend came with me last weekend (as unfortunately he did not have the week off) to pick up a great crafting desk for me from the cheap and cheerful, IKEA :) This meant that I could start fishing out my crafting materials and start creating. This also got me in the mood to shop too and I ended up spending a good few hours in shops buying craft stuff :)

Whilst sorting out my desk I found my collection of cards that I have ready made and thought I should upload pictures of those first. Some of these cards are from about 2 years ago! (As you can tell as they are quite rubbish and very basic) And I never got around to sending them… Oops! Always handy to have a collection ready for any occasion… (P.S. If you happen to receive one of these cards in the near future then I made it especially for you ;) Heehee!)

You may notice I went through a major origami phase - which I still love but am trying new things too now.

Hopefully all the stuff I upload after this collection will be an improvement.
And tomorrow I am heading off to Long Crendon to do further shopping for crafting materials so that I can get making some more cards :D - hopefully I will find some stuff to make boys card as you can probably see that I am lacking in that area.

Love you all.

Welcome...

Hello everyone,

It is quite strange starting off a blog as I have never done one before and am not entirely sure what to write for the first message.

I decided to put this blog together, partly to archive my craft work (as I often forget the ideas I come up with) and share it with my loved ones - both here and abroad, and partly to keep my nosey family up to date with the general shenanigans that happen in my world… It may be very dull!

Anywho, I hope you like it and let me know what you think.

Love
